It may be worth keeping an eye on this new online video service for education. Although still relatively few, the numbers of videos are growing rapidly, with 34 last night increasing to 54 by this afternoon. It will be Interesting to see how it will sit alongside established services such as YouTube and TTV. My own view is; the more the merrier, as long as good search and RSS tools are included. Video is becoming one of the most important formats for learning on the Internet. Another educational application of video highlights, that it is only a matter of time before those that continue to block Web 2.0 and online video services will have to rethink their strategies.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing TeacherTube with the world through your blog.
I am Jason one of 3 co-founders of TeacherTube. Along with my wife, Jodie and brother Adam we created TeacherTube to form a community where the best teachers in the world are sharing their best practices with other teachers and with students. My wife and I are 14 year veteran public educators and my brother is our tech guru.
I agree whole heartedly with the idea that many who are blocking web 2.0 sites will need to rethink their practice. In fact TeacherTube is designed to be a safe place for learners of all ages so that schools can feel confident allowing TeacherTube into the classrooms. We also understand that TeacherTube will only be as good as the content that our community members places into the site. So it is very important to us that our community members keep high standards for uploads through the ability to flag and comment on any video lesson.
Please encourage your readers to give us input, for TeacherTube is learning as the site continues to grow.

Hi Jason
Thanks for your comments. The site is turning out even better than I expected with the blog http://www.teachertube.blogspot.com/ and supporting social and collaborative features adding value.
It now features regularly on my courses for educators and also in advice docuemnts and consultancies I am working on. Keep up the good work at your end, and of course TeacherTube is what the users make of it and contribute.
