Try this!
The last year has seen quite a number of excellent tools you can use to create interactive Google Maps.
But I suspect, one that will become very popular in education will be Wandering Ken's new development of Quikmaps. Quickmaps is very intuitive and has features that make it ideal for use in schools and colleges. Not only can you simply drag Markers around on the map and add notes in their Description Boxes, you can also draw straight or freehand lines and add text labels. It is also very easy to embed html, images and video in the Description Boxes.
My first attempt below: Not very educational, I admit....but ..fun, and knocked up in about 20 minutes.
This looks to be a great idea Theo.
